The Tiger Rugby team opened their spring season with two victories, 25-20 over in-state opponent James Madison and low-scoring 9-8 victory over Mary Washington. Standouts from the JMU game were junior Jake Pierce and freshman Charlie Kyle who both scored tries for the Tigers to help lead the team to a hard-fought victory. In their next game, the Tigers hosted the Eagles of Mary Washington and battled through bitter cold and constant snowfall to snag a 9-8 victory. The 2-0 start to the season bodes well for the Tigers as they prepare for the rest of their spring schedule which includes games against a home match against VMI on February 23rd. The Tigers will then have two road contest against Christendom College and the University of Richmond before returning home for a the season finale against in-state foe Lynchburg College on March 30th.
