Basketball Keeps Rolling Through ODAC

“At this point in the season it’s important we focus on one game at a time,” announced Sophomore Guard Greg Lewis.  When asked about the playoffs Lewis also commented that “the most important game is the next game, we will work about playoffs after we play Emory and Henry.”

Hampden-Sydney has not become the ODAC conference leader by resting on their laurels.  They are constantly subduing teams with an impressive 20 and 2 record this far in the season, mainly owing to the big leaders on the team that have stepped up and been scoring baskets.  Harrison George, Khobie Williamson, Greg Lewis, Cam Anderson, and Mike Murray have been leading the team in points per game as well as overall points scored.

Cam Anderson, Forward, accredits this to the depth of the team that allows them to play intense basketball every game that makes it hard for the rest of the teams to keep up.  He said “We are the type of team that anybody can go off any given night because we distribute the ball so much.”

The latest news in the Hampden-Sydney basketball team is Greg Lewis who tied the 3 point record in a single game with an astounding “8” 3 pointers made.  When asked to comment about his incredible game, he replied humbly “I felt good about tying the 3 point record, I feel honored to be a part of the record books.”  He went on to say he hopes to be able to break the record on day.

With the season coming to a close, Hampden-Sydney must adhere to what Lewis stated and take the games one by one and worry about the playoffs when the season is officially over.  Kodie Critzer is keeping a cool head about the playoffs as well, stating “our goal right now is to win the ODAC then think about the NCAA tournament.”
